2023 BPO International Open Multi-lifts

Powerlifting, Bilateral, & Single lift Bench Press Championships

December 10th  

Bone’s Gym, Eltham, London, England

   

BPO are grateful to Bone’s Gym thanks to the Proprietor Barry Davis for hosting the above championships. Over fifty spectators generated great vocal support and camaraderie.

Lifters, Officials and Spectators travelled afar in wintry conditions.

All lifters were presented with unique gold Conan statues, Lady with Sword and certificates of participation at the end of the championships by Peter Davis.

Amazingly, 13 British, 12 European and 11 World records were broken at these championships.

52kg Women’s T15-19 – Maddie Watling - Dead Lift 72.5kg B

110kg Men’s T15-19 – Charlie Griggs - B-E-W Bench Press 190kg B-E-W Dead Lift 300kg B-E-W & Total 470kg B-E-W

140+kg Men’s Open – Julian De-Allie - Bench Press 195kg B-E-W Dead Lift 320kg B-E-W & Total 515kg B-E-W

SINGLE PLY RECORDS SINGLE LIFT BENCH PRESS:

90kg Men’s M60+ – Phil Beniston - Bench Press 185kg B-E-W

Many of the lifters have since e-mailed, Facebook, text, telephoned and wrote to express how “GOOD” the Championships were run, with dedication and commitment from all those below involved.

BEST LIFTER AWARDS

BPO Best Overall Bench Press receiving the Annual David Berg Memorial Shield went to Charlie Griggs with 113 points.

BPO Best Overall Dead Lift receiving the Annual Eddy Pengelly Memorial Shield went to Julian De-Allie with 176 points.
